COUNCIL 93 UNIT 2 MEMBERS RATIFY CONTRACT WITH COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS

A few moments ago, AFSCME Council 93 Unit 2 members working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts voted to ratify a new three-year contract worthy of their hard work, and most importantly, their courage and dedication over the past 16 months.
Despite the challenges associated with voting while still respecting COVID-19 protocols, we had an incredible turnout of members voting at indoor and outdoor polling locations around the state with the vast majority voting in support of the agreement!
Contract negotiations are always challenging and this time was no different. But we remained determined to secure an agreement that reflected all our members have done, and all they have risked, to deliver essential public services during one of the most frightening and uncertain times in modern history.
I want to thank our Massachusetts Field Services Director and Chief Negotiator Ed Nastari, and all of the dedicated members of our negotiating team, for the countless hours they spent leading up to today’s victory – a victory every AFSCME Council 93 member should be proud of tonight.
I also want to thank our members for taking the time to vote today and for supporting the efforts of our team. Congratulations!
In Solidarity,
Mark Bernard
Executive Director
