EMS Week Highlight- Local 4911 Assists in New Hampshire Vaccine Effort

In honor of EMS Week, we wanted to highlight some of the work that AFSCME Local 4911 members have been doing in New Hampshire to help in the COVID-19 fight. EMS workers have been on the the front of the front lines in the fight against COVID-19 since day one. They put themselves and their families at risk to treat our families and keep our communities safe. They are front line heroes who deserve our gratitude for their hardwork and dedication.

Local 4911 members, EMT’s and Paramedics at AMR Ambulance, have been assisting in the Granite State’s Mass Vaccination clinics held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

With the assistance of skilled Local 4911 members and other front line workers, tens of thousands of doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. The drive through clinics have ensured that thousands of New Hampshire residents will be protected from the COVID-19 virus.

Local 4911 Chief Steward Mike Arnold was one of the many AFSCME Members deployed to assist in this operation, and said of the event, “It was well organized, and allowed us to get the vaccination to a large number of people in only a few days.”

Local 4911 members have been on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic from the outset, providing vital, and often life-saving, services to the residents of southern New Hampshire. They have also been deployed across the country to assist in Texas and New York which have been especially hard hit during the pandemic. Now, Local 4911 members are helping to get the vaccines distributed to thousands at home in the Granite State.

“Local 4911 members did the mass vaccination event, but have also been assisting in delivering the vaccine at other sites around New Hampshire in support of the statewide effort,” Arnold added, “Every step of the way, Local 4911 has been there.”
