We have more progress to report regarding legislative funding for the one-time COVID bonus agreements signed in conjunction with our new contract.

Late last week, the Massachusetts State Senate passed its version of the federal relief budget. Like the house budget that has already passed, the senate budget includes money for bonuses.

However, there are other differences between the house and senate bills that will need to be resolved before the legislation is sent to Governor Baker to be signed into law. We continue to work in coalition with other public-sector unions to get this legislation passed as quickly as possible and before the legislature temporarily recesses for the holidays.
