Vermont Local 1343 Members Recognized for Reaching a Combined 101 Years of Public Service 03/29/2013

Members of AFSCME Local 1343 recently took time to celebrate the extraordinary public service of three of their members. Local 1343 President and Council 93 Executive Board Member Karl LaBounty, and Local members David McWilliams and Bill Rasch were honored for reaching a combined 101 years of service in the jobs.

LaBounty, an assistant grounds foreman for the Burlington School District recently completed three decades of service as did Rasch, who works for the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department. McWilliams, a wastewater treatment operator for the City of St. Albans, drove the trio over the century mark with an incredible 41 years of service. Council 93 Vermont Coordinator George Lovell joined the members for the surprise celebration which included the presentation of an anniversary cake.

Local 1343 represents approximately 400 members including but not limited to City of Burlington employees; the Shelburne Police Dept.; Hinesburg Public Works; St. Albans Police; Fire and DPW employees; Colchester Police & DPW employees; the town employees of Milton and Essex; and St. Michael's College maintenance employees. Council 93 congratulations Karl, David and Bill and thanks Local 1343 for taking the time to recognize their valuable service.
