You Decide: Who's More Likely to Privatize your Job?

On September 6th, AFSCME members in Massachusetts will help select the Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor.

As Mayor of Salem, Kim Driscoll has already privatized public services.  She cast the tie-breaking vote in 2021 to privatize the jobs of 22 long-serving school bus drivers. After mismanaging the school transportation system, she then led the effort to privatize. It was a failure of management, but frontline workers paid the price!

State Senator Eric Lesser, who has been endorsed by Council 93, opposes privatization of public services. He supports extending the checks and balances of the state’s privatization law (also known as the Pacheco Law) to municipalities. He opposes the kinds of reckless privatization proposals implemented by people like Kim Driscoll.

Do you really want a politician with a proven record of privatization serving as our next Lt. Governor?

On Tuesday, September 6th, the choice is clear. We encourage all AFSCME members in Massachusetts to vote for Eric Lesser for Lt. Governor! Learn more about how Eric Lesser will stand up for working families as our next Lieutenant Governor here!
